Born On A Rainy Day - Billy Connolly

Billy Connolly's debut collection of signed limited edition prints.

Connolly describes his artistic process as something of an enigma; something which he cannot explain but seemingly takes him over as he begins to create. "It bears no relation to comedy or music" says Connolly "my art is pure and unjudged, I am creating for myself, it is personal and private, whereas with a film, comedy show or music you expect people to be critiquing, watching and assessing. Art is different, it liberates you".

His process is similar to that of the Surrealist Automatism Movement, whereby the artist allows his hand to move randomly across the paper or canvas, without an intent to create anything specifically.

Timmy Mallett is known as a TV and entertainment personality, but is just as versatile and colourful in his artistic endeavours.
He loves painting (mainly in acrylics), and will reach for his 'Mallett's Pallette' at the drop of a brush. He is a really talented artist who takes his inspiration from this country, and from trips all over the world. His many and varied paintings glow with colour.
A love of painting came at an early age to Timmy and he studied History of Art as part of his degree at Warwick University. In recent years he has enjoyed a keen artistic friendship and interaction with Rolf Harris.

Rolf says, " He is an enthusiastic and exciting artist.... 'I'm knocked out by his work'.

We will have a marvellous selection of Timmy's artwork in the gallery on the day.

Bob Barker artist appearance

We are very excited here at Rennies as Yorkshire artist Bob Barker is paying us a visit at 1.00pm, he will be giving a painting demonstration between 1.00-4.00pm, why not come along!
